Workplace Prevention Services
WPS is an Employee Assistance Program designed to assist Colorado small businesses in their efforts to reduce the negative effects of drugs and alcohol on the workplace.

Services
  • Assessment and referral, short-term problem resolution, facilitating back-to-work agreements, and identifying and resolving fitness-for-duty concerns
  • Employee education and supervisor training
  • Environmental scans to identify areas in the workplace conducive to substance abuse
  • Training and technical assistance for the employer to develop written policies and procedures and other elements of an effective drug-free workplace program
  • Parent education—lunchtime/after-work sessions
  • Information via the web including employer resource guide brochures and educational literature about drug-free workplace programs.
Why would an employee seek assistance?
Drug or alcohol problems, relationship issues, stress, depression or work-related issues.

Costs
There are no costs to businesses or employees to participate in either program.

The Colorado Employee Assistance Professionals’ Association recognized the Peer Assistance Services, Inc. Workplace Prevention Services Program with the 2008 Outstanding Employee Assistance Program in Colorado.
