Peer Assistance Services, Inc. is a Colorado 501(c)(3) non-profit agency dedicated to quality, accessible prevention and intervention services in workplaces and communities, focusing on substance abuse and related issues. At the core of PAS are the values of integrity, respect, compassion, perseverance and vision. We incorporate these values into all that we do in the service of our mission.
PAS was founded in 1984 with $300 in start-up funds from the Colorado Nurses Association to serve nurses with substance abuse issues. Over the past 27 years PAS has expanded its operating budget to $9.1 million. Services have been expanded to include intervention with a wider range of licensed health care professionals including dentists, pharmacists and veterinarians, other at-risk working adults and offenders in reentry from incarceration. PAS has also expanded services to include substance abuse prevention programming with strategies aimed at at-risk populations. SBIRT Colorado focuses on early intervention with non-dependent users. We now serve more than 37,000 Coloradans annually in 12 locations throughout the state.
